Glass is from the most transparent substances, therefore it has been used since the ancient period in windows for preventing dust and wind and preserving the external view, after some years we started to demand more from the glass like:
1. Permiting an external view while preventing the outsiders from having an internal view (Anti-reflection glass).
2. Insulate sound and heat.
3. Protection.
Glass can be toughened and strengthened against any attack for breaking or penetrating by the cutting tools and gunshots with preserving its transparency.

In some special cases when the glass is facing high temperature or continuous friction or abrasion & scraching, it is preferred to use the Super group, Which is characterised by its glass outer layer being thermally treated (tempered) to resist the high temperature and the continuous friction, which increases its strength.
